MOVING AND HANDLING Training the Trainer
3 DAY COURSE
The LSCDG Moving and Handling of People Train the Trainer course for wider sector providers is a three day course.
Some of the course content will be covered in a workbook. The workbook will be a distance learning tool covering legal requirements, anatomy and physiology and why injury may occur.
Before you can access this three-day course you should first complete the Expression of Interest form on the Hub and your request will be processed. If you are accepted on to the course you will receive an enrolment email.
Please be aware that each delegate MUST complete and submit the form themselves - managers cannot enrol workers for this course
Once enrolled on to the course you will be expected to complete the Moving & Handling Quiz with a pass mark and then you will be able to select dates to attend the 3 day course.
Managers, supervisors or other staff members in the independent and voluntary sector establishments who have experience of moving and handling of people. Delegates should also have responsibility for delivering training or the ability and capacity to deliver training.
Therefore this course is appropriate for senior staff and managers, those who have the ability to implement the training and knowledge gained.
Delegates will be expected to attend the Moving and Handling Update course every 12 to 18 months.
Fully funded for eligible establishments, if you are not eligible for a free place there is a charge of £350.00 per delegate.
There is a non-attendance charge of £100.00 per day for non-attendance (see T&Cs)

Aims & Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
Leicester City Council Staff cannot attend this course.
Wider Sector & Rutland County Council staff
- Work within the laws and regulations of Moving and Handling
- Identify and demonstrate the physical effects of manual handling on the body
- Use principles of safe handling and instruct others to do so.
- Identify and correct unsafe client handling practices
- Use safe hoisting techniques and instruct others to do so
- Carry out and demonstrate to others the need for safety checks on equipment
- Carry out, implement and review M&H risk assessments
- Demonstrate continued competence
