Rutland Care Providers ONLY

Dear Provider

Please be advised that with effect from 31st March 2023 Rutland County Council will no longer be a member of the Leicestershire Social Care Development Group (LSCDG) and therefore their training offer will no longer be available to Rutland ASC providers.

Following feedback from you, including via the Fair Cost of Care exercise,  Rutland County Council have undertaken a review of the LSCDG offering. The training available has been significantly underutilised in recent years and appears to no longer meet your training needs.

There are a variety of alternative resources available to support ASC providers with training requirements, in particular we would draw your attention to the extensive range of free resources and tools provided by Skills for Care which you can access at any time.

Subjects include recruitment, staff development, Good and Outstanding care guidance, and various care specific topics including learning disabilities, dementia and end of life care.  Further information can be found here and should you have any queries or require additional support our Skills for Care Locality Manager Lauren Stacey would be happy to help and can be contacted via email lauren.stacey@skillsforcare.org.uk.

This does not impact your ability to access the Workforce Development Fund which is currently administered by the LSCDG on behalf of Skills for Care and any involvement you currently have with the LSCDG in respect of this will be unaffected.  The fund allows you to claim back money towards the cost of your staff completing a broad range of ASC qualifications and learning programmes.   You will have already received details regarding this, further information can be found here.

From 31st March 2023 you will no longer have access to the LSCDG Hub so any certificates or learning records will need to be downloaded prior to this

Your feedback also suggested there is a requirement for management training.  The LSCDG plan to deliver two leadership programmes (Lead to Succeed and Well-Led) throughout the coming year, which will be available to Rutland providers.  There is an initial cost,  although a funding contribution towards this can be claimed back via the Workforce Development Fund.

Rutland County Council are also interested in other training that you feel may be useful so we can consider if this is something we can source or develop directly for you.

If you have ideas and feedback please share these either through the Provider Forum or by email to  commissioning@rutland.gov.uk.
