- Understand the key parts of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
- Understand the case law defining deprivation of liberty and how to apply the Acid Test in their setting
- Understand the DoLS process and applications and local DoLS processes
- Understand the various rights and safeguards provided under DoLS and the duty on managing authorities to inform residents of this
- Identify how their working practices will be affected by the legislation
- Feel confident that they make accurate, full and clear DoLS referrals; reducing unnecessary referrals to Supervisory bodies
- What if people do not fall under DoLS, what is the responsibility
- Understand the role of the Representative + Conditions + Reviews
