Learning Outcomes:
  • By the end of this course delegates will:
  • Will know what is meant by the term "Positive Behaviour Support" and how to adopt human right based approaches
  • Be able to develop good quality Positive Behaviour Support plans for individuals in their work place, that takes into account the principles of person centred approaches.
  • Know what is meant by the term "Applied Behaviour Analysis" and use data to guide support plans.
  • Have an understanding of various restrictive practices, appropriateness of their use and the law.
  • Identify proactive methods of support to reduce the need for restrictive interventions.
  • know what is meant by positional asphyxia and the signs and symptoms of the condition
  • Be confident in a range of disengagement and non-restrictive physical intervention skills
Following the course delegates will be given access to a library of resources that will enable them to continue with their professional development and embed PBS into the organisation. Delegates will have the reassurance of aftercare support and guidance from the trainers. TARGET GROUP: This course is designed for those who work within support services, and have been identified by their line manager as an in house lead for Positive Behaviour Support. The course will enable the individual to provide information and advise colleagues on best practice. The content of the 3 day course will cover material from 'LSCDG Understanding behaviours that challenge' and 'LSCDG Positive Behaviour Support - Support Planning' therefore delegates are not expected or advised to attend these separate one day courses prior to attending this course.

Arrive 9.15 for registration and refreshments for a 9.30am prompt start and finish 4.30pm  Refreshments and Lunch WILL be provided on all 3 days   In the event of  non-attendance, the establishment will be invoiced for the of rate of £300 per person.
