Aim:
After attending Category C (specialist) ASD training you will:
- Understand the autism spectrum, the Triad of Impairments and associated issues
- Have the ability to recognise behaviour patterns that may indicate autism as their root cause
- Possess practical strategies for supporting adults on the autism spectrum
- Understand the local Care Pathway/s for adults with (or suspected of having) ASD
- Know where to access further information and assistance in supporting adults with ASD
Target Group:
Staff with elements of their roles focussed on working with adults on the autism spectrum
Staff who have frequent or intensive contact with adults on the autism spectrum
Staff working in key roles such as those conducting assessments and those with leadership roles locally
Staff who manage colleagues who are on the autism spectrum
