Inspired To Care Members ONLY – Adult Social Care Sector Based Work Academies

October 9, 2020

Inspired to Care have partnered with DWP and training provider CT Skills to deliver a year-long programme of adult social care sector-based work academies. With an increase in people entering the labour market from all sectors, this is a great opportunity for us to start attracting people into this great sector. The academies will enable candidates to gain a recognised Level 1 qualification in Health and Social Care, a comprehensive introduction into careers in social care including work experience activities and ‘days in the life of a care professional’ videos and they will also obtain a DBS, ready to start work. This means that you can ask them to sign up to the transferable DBS service to get them into work even quicker!

The qualification and training will include modules such as;

  • Introduction into careers in social care
  • Provision types
  • Safeguarding
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Health & Safety
  • Person Centred Support
  • Mental Health
  • Dementia

All learners who successfully complete the course will be individually matched with an employer for a guaranteed job interview. We are reaching out to you to see if you would like to be an employer to offer interviews at the end of the process.

All candidates will be pre-screened onto the course, will have attended all training days, have the right values for a role in social care and be immediately available. The Inspired to Care team will work with you and the candidates to match them to local job opportunities which means you will only interview people who are within the areas you are recruiting in.

This course will be delivered virtually so candidates are able to complete the training from the comfort of their own home to prevent infection. We would advise interviews with you should also be conducted virtually.

All candidates will be aged 19 or over.

We will be asking all employers to interview using the values based approach and we will provide the interview questions and templates for you to use. You can also add any question you want to this process but results should be from the score of the values based questions.

This is a completely free offer and another opportunity for you to interview excellent candidates.

The first training session is to take place at the end of October, so the first cohort of candidates should be ready to be interviewed in mid-November, and then every month following.

Interested? Please email back with the name, email address & telephone number of the interviewer from your organisation and the postcode areas you would like to interview candidates from.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on the details below.
